Overview

This dashboard monitors live Win and Place odds for every horse in the current race. It automatically detects significant odds movements and fires alerts — both here and to Discord — so you never miss a market move.

Data refreshes every 5 seconds. The countdown in the top-right corner shows when the next refresh is due. The dashboard auto-switches to the current race as each one starts.

The Odds Chart

Each coloured line represents one horse. The Y axis uses a logarithmic scale so short-priced horses (e.g. 3.0) and long shots (e.g. 30.0) both have equal visual space — making movements equally readable regardless of price.

Reading the chart

• Line moving down — odds shortening, horse being backed
• Line moving up — odds drifting, money going elsewhere
• Red/bold line — current race favourite
• Flat line — no significant market interest

Win vs Place toggle

Switch between Win and Place odds using the toggle buttons. Place odds are typically 20–28% of Win odds.

Odds vs % Change toggle

Odds shows raw prices. % Chg shows each horse's movement relative to its opening price — useful for comparing movement across differently-priced horses.

Horse pills

Click any horse pill below the chart to hide or show that line. Useful for isolating a horse you're interested in. The opening odds are shown in grey next to each name.

Alert Indicators

Coloured vertical lines on the chart mark the exact moment an alert was triggered. Each type has a distinct colour and style:

• Drop 20% — HKJC native indicator. Solid green line. Odds have dropped ≥20% from opening.
• Drop 40% — Custom calculated. Dashed amber line. Odds have dropped ≥40% from opening. Tracked for both Win and Place odds independently.
• Drop 50% — HKJC native indicator. Solid dark red line. Odds have dropped ≥50% from opening.
• Fav Change — Dashed red line. The race favourite has changed to a different horse.

Each line is labelled at the top with the horse number and trigger odds (e.g. #6 @ 4.2).

A small legend below the chart shows which alert types are present in the current race.

Pool Volume Chart

Shows the total money in the Win pool, Place pool and Race Total (Win + Place) over time. Pool size is a proxy for overall betting activity in a race.

• Slow early growth — normal. Most money comes in the final 5–8 minutes before post time.
• Sharp acceleration — heavy late betting activity, often where the biggest odds movements occur.
• Race Total = Win Pool + Place Pool. Other bet types (Quinella, Forecast etc.) are not included.

Live Alerts Feed

Every alert shows:

• Alert type — Drop 20%, Drop 40%, Drop 50% or Favourite Change
• Horse — number and name
• Trigger odds — Win odds at the moment the alert fired
• Current odds — most recent odds (may have moved further since alert)
• Time — in Hong Kong time (HKT)

Filtering alerts

Use the coloured filter chips to show/hide specific alert types. At least one must remain active. Filters apply instantly without reloading.

Summary Tab

Shows a race-by-race breakdown of all horses with their opening and closing odds, percentage movement, and any alerts triggered. Useful for reviewing a race after it finishes.

HKJC Native vs Custom Alerts

There are two types of drop alert:

• Native (20% and 50%) — these use HKJC's own indicator classes from their website. They're the same signals visible as colour highlights on the official HKJC site.
• Custom (40%) — calculated independently by comparing current Win or Place odds to the opening price at the start of betting. Fires when the drop reaches ≥40% for either bet type. A horse can trigger a Win alert and a Place alert independently.

Both types are independent — a horse can trigger a 20% native alert and later a 40% custom alert as its odds continue to drop.
